Failure

Failure does a lot of things to a lot of people. For me it sorted me out good and proper

To start, this blog will slowly change from a glorified 'about me' to a round-up of life as a medical student in Manchester. "We've read these before!" i hear you moan. I dont care. I wanted to do one. I could just write in a diary each night before i go to bed come september, but thats a bit gay. I like the idea of looking back at this in years to come and laugh at what a child i was

Anyway, im not even in medical school yet so heres my failure that set me on the road ahead

● Failed A levels
● Got a scooter
● Got fat
● Had bad hair
● Made bad friends
● Played a stupid amount of computer games
● Got a demoralising job in an office with an evil supervisor
● Generally moped about for 2/3 years

Pathetic hey?

Realised i was a fucking loser and decided to make a change. Went to my local college and took the science A levels along with maths (what i heard was appropriate for medicine) and gave it a go. Luckily the people on the course were awesome and the tutors in general were very helpful. Did really well and now im off to manchester in september 2009. Couldnt be happier nowadays. Have even stopped buying lottery tickets (as a way out)

So thats a little about me. I'll be posting some more random stuff soon, including a guide to getting into medical school from a mature failure position like mine. I have no interesting insights or storys on medicine or medical school, so you'll be stuck with some random spew until september
